FAQ

What is a MOGO Silent Disco event?

MOGO Silent Disco Tour is one of the most fun things to do in Palm Springs! (Rated a Traveler’s Choice, and included among 2023’s “Top 10% of Activities Worldwide” by TripAdvisor!) It lasts approximately 60 minutes, during which we’ll “strance” (that’s stroll and dance) through downtown, to some of your favorite tunes from yesterday and today.

MOGO Silent Disco Onsite is also available for onsite events. Do you want to dance the night away under a beautiful, starlit sky? Well, noise ordinances in Palm Springs are STRICT…so MOGO is here to help! You won’t disturb any neighbors during a private silent disco at your home, AirBNB, or event space.

Whether you’re celebrating a bachelorette party, birthday, wedding, divorce, funeral, or team-building event, MOGO Silent Disco is definitely a great option!

Where and when do your tours take place?

We typically recommend a 6:30pm start time for MOGO Silent Disco Tours - but will work out those details when you book! As far as a route, Seaplane Shirts is our favorite place to start and end, but of course we can customize a route through downtown Palm Springs that suits your needs. There are plenty of wonderful restaurants and bars downtown, to start or end your party!

What kind of music will we listen to?

MOGO strives to ensure that you’re listening to music that makes you want to “strance,” so you can expect lots of upbeat vocal pop, classic disco, and hits from the 80’s, 90’s, and 2000’s.  We do our best to tailor every night’s selection to your group’s tastes, so upon booking you’ll be asked for some tunes/artists that make your group want to get crazy; we’ll incorporate as many of those as possible into the playlist.

Is this a real “tour,” and will I have to listen to any boring history stuff?

Absolutely not!  MOGO is a music-based tour, and while your guide is happy to tell you anything you want to know about Palm Springs, its sights, or recommendations, the primary focus of the evening is to party and have a good time—so we’ll try not to talk too much.

Can I eat, drink, or do drugs on the tour?

No food, alcoholic beverages, or drugs are allowed on the tour. MOGO is happy to recommend some bars/restaurants in the area, though, for before or after your tour. We strongly suggest refraining from any intoxicating substances before the tour, and do not tolerate the use of any drugs or alcohol during the tour.  Since we are walking through the streets, it’s important to keep your wits about you and to stay safe. MOGO reserves the rights to deny participation to, or eject from the tour, anyone who appears to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or engages in dangerous or unruly behavior.

What ages can come on the tour?

All ages are welcome at MOGO!  Those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who will have to fill out this liability waiver on their behalf.  For parents who want their kids to stay little angels forever, please note that MOGO does not censor its music, so your children may be exposed to certain songs/lyrics that contain adult language or subject matter.

What do I wear?

The party may be silent, but your outfits should be loud! MOGO suggests festive, fun attire - the street is your runway, so get the attention you deserve!  Kaftans, wigs, bright colors, bold patterns, sequins, lamé, cowboy hats, group-themed outfits: they’re all encouraged!  Most importantly, though, wear comfortable footwear that allows you to walk/dance, and don’t forget to take the possibility of a hot night into account (We mean the weather, but what you do after is your business…)

If you think you’ll need something fabulous to wear, check out these great clothing stores in the Palm Springs area:

Seaplane (Hundreds of amazing designs for men and women. They outfitted MOGO’s guide for the inaugural tour!)

Peepas (Like you’ve died and gone to Kaftan heaven!)

Gay Mart (Because who doesn’t love wearing rainbow?!)

Trina Turk (Bright colors and a midcentury modern flair!)

What do I bring with me?

A great attitude!  We also suggest a bottle of water.  Other than that, we encourage you to travel light so you can really groove.  We’ll have a few props to give out as well! All guests will be required to fill out this liability waiver prior to starting the tour.

I’m grossed out by the idea of sharing headphones.  Can I wear mine?

Unfortunately the technology does not support you using your own, however you can rest assured that we thoroughly clean and sanitize each headset after the tour.

Does the tour have bathroom breaks?

There are no pre-scheduled bathroom breaks during this approximately 60-minute experience.

My dog loves to be outside, too, so can I bring my Chihuahua?

Pets are cool and a great ice-breaker, so we welcome your dogs - but ONLY if they can be carried comfortably in your arms or a small bag for the duration of the tour.  We don’t want anyone tripping over leashes. MOGO reserves the right to refuse admission if your pet does not meet these criteria.
